For the development of CIEMAR activities, the University of Évora made cooperation agreements with the following institutions:

• Town Hall of Sines, to promote studies and projects in marine sciences and technologies
• Sines Port Authority, to promote studies and projects in marine sciences and for the environmental control of the Port of Sines through monitoring studie
• Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon, for cooperation between the Institute of Oceanography and CIEMAR in marine biology and related areas
